After a morning latte at a nearby Starbucks on Lincoln Road, I caught the tourist bus to tour Miami. It was quite a chilly start (relatively speaking). I deleted some shots off my Blackberry, but that's full, so I switched to the Nokia I've bought for the trip. That soon ran out! Talk about the technology ...

Compared to everywhere else I've travelled in the US, Miami is glorious.. But Day one and two the sun is not shining. It's overcast and windy. So I've taken advantage to explore Ocean Drive. It's about ten years since I last visited, so I was trying to recall some of the great places I shopped, ate and supped mojitos. I had a late lunch at Penguin Cafe. Up with the larks this morning. Truth is I didn't really sleep. Perhaps one or two hours shut-eye. I'd set multiple alarms for 3.15am ahead of my taxi pick-up at 4am. I made sure I was fully packed, bathed and dressed last night at around midnight all ready to go. With generally only one Amtrak train a day in most places, you don't want to risk being late. The lady on reception at the Andrew Pinckney Inn kindly filled my flask with fresh coffee as my taxi arrive...
