Interesting start to the day navigating the Atlanta transport system.. hotel shuttle, airport MARTA train, bus to Amtrak. The hotel shuttle bus driver was really friendly and helpful, but not necessarily the greatest driver. He went through a red light, which I alerted him to..'is this a red light?', so we came to a screeching halt with cars coming across from the right & left of us. He then reversed up saying 'thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus'... I was thin...

Stayed in last night. Not the best accommodation ever. I'd requested a non-smoking room & while there's no ash trays, it smells of stale smoke. Not good with a cold. I'll be out of internet & phone contact for a couple of days as we head for the Smoky Mountains. I'll try to post on Wednesday. Now off for early breakfast & onward to Downtown Atlanta!

Had a wonderful evening at Sofitel Heathrow with dinner at Carluccio's 5. Spent this morning sipping coffee at Cafe Nero watching planes take off before waving goodbye to my parents. Enjoyed duty free and lunch at Wagamama's airside. The sake went down well although it may have contributed to me nearly missing flight! I got off at wrong mono-rail stop for my gate so had to run (like Usain Bolt) along tunnels to get to gate! Made it by the skin of my teeth. Fl...
