Hey.
Went to Versailles today with Megan. Got bit lost on the trains getting there - tried to get connecting train at wrong station. Even used my best french trying to find the train! Eventually got there and joined the huge queue to get in. Was worth it tho. Incredible place. The building is huge. Only went in the state apartments - so extravagant almost nauseating! My favourite part was the gardens. Stunning landscaping and awesome size. Best bit was the Queen's Hamlet - recommend to anyone. Marie Antoinette had it built, is a fantasy village. looked like a Disney set. Had a mini farm with goats, pigs, donkeys and other animals. Another really hot day so after walking the hour to the hamlet (yes the gardens are that big!) got the mini train back to the Palace and left to get main train back to Paris. Only regret of Versailles was not hiring a golf cart to drive round in - so cool yet quite pricey when trying to stick to my budget. Went back and crashed for a bit then went on bike tour at 7. Much more biking than day one but really good. was more emphasis on fun rather than info. Met two nice girls from Oz - Rachael and Jen so wasn't all lonely on my own. Went on boat trip along the Seine as part of it really good. Saw Notre Dame and other bits. Had another thunderstorm as we were biking back to the shop - soaked through but all part of the fun. Got home late and only got a few hours sleep before getting the 8am coach to Bruges. Had great time in Paris though not too sad to leave as have better places coming up!
