Before we left Memphis and we woke up very late- 11 AM, we stopped at the GIANT pyramid that resembled the Excalibur in Vegas (i think that's what it is). it was their old basketball stadium, now a Bass Pro Shop.Random people told us to go there. It was cool. Looks like most but gigantic. There are the typical fishponds only way bigger. They actually have pontoon boats in the water. They have alligators. It has an elevator in the middle that goes to the top to an observation deck. Yes we are boring as we did not feel it necessary to pay 10 dollars a person to see Memphis from the top of a pyramid. The kids didn't show interest either. One of the cool things in there is that it is also a hotel lodge. The rooms overlook the store and look like cabins. They look nice inside. Not my bag of worms but if you like that stuff, check it out.
We arrived in Nashville around 330ish. Paul no sooner pulled into the parking spot at Opryland Resort and blew the tire. It hit a storm drain and blew big time. We all took a deep breath and went inside the resort to check it out and get our room. We left it for the time being because regardless we are here for two nights and apparently, we don't need to go anywhere once you step inside. It is incredible. It is nice too. I thought it might be dirty and run down but it is none of the above. Its beautiful with tons of nice restaurants, stores, pools, gardens, etc. Whatever you need. Shuttles to Grand Ole Opry (we go tomorrow night). It's great. The kids are in heaven. We checked in and got an Atrium view room which is a room with french doors and a balcony overlooking the gardens, waterfalls and open air restaurants. Very nice.
We had a snack of sushi and I took the kids to the pool while Paul used OnStar to fix our car. It is so great. This is the second time they hooked us up on the road. Push a button and a guy comes to fix the car. The tire was changed in no time. We have a full spare on our car because we can't use a small spare. Tomorrow we'll go get another tire.
We had a late dinner in the same restaurant which is an American and Sushi restaurant because Ben really liked it and the atmosphere. We had to sit in a cave booth again. Our food was great. This place is much nicer than I thought. Now everyone is out like a light. 1 AM last night caught up with everyone . Tomorrow. we max and relax by the pool and then some country music tomorrow night. We have VIP backstage passes to Grand Ole Opry. Do we like country music, you ask? Um, nope. I don't think so but what the hell. When in Rome...in Tennessee, do as the Tennesseans do.
Funny they are all passed out while I document our memories. The reason for detail and so many different pictures, is because when I am done with this blog, I push a button and they turn it into a really cool book. I have one for every trip. I am making them memory books of all of our travels...while they sleep. Also, while writing these, I am half asleep. Please excuse grammatical errors and misspelling. Thank you. One kid just snorted. Not sure which but it make me thankful none of us snore. That would be annoying. Good night.
