Tom:
So in 24 hours time we'll be in Bali - the southern hemisphere. It's a nice feeling to know that we've made it through a month and a half of traveling now, with our own tales to pass on to other travelers, rather than listening in anticipation to everyone else's stories. It's almost like we're proper travelers! It's also good to be moving on, I feel we're pretty much done with mainland South East Asia. We've had our temples, elephant rides, trekking and our Thai island - plus Halong Bay. Looking back at our photos (which Nil's done a stellar job with taking) there are some good memories already. So let's open the next chapter of the Worldwide adventure! Blog yo'll in Bali. TY
Nil:
Hey all,
I hope you all like the photos we put up and a really funny video that I took of Tom. That video kept us laughing for hours, I hope it entertains you too!
We visited the floating market yesterday which was a real treat. It was complete madness on the water where hundreds of boats were pushing past each other, salesmen desperately trying to peddle their wares, and dear old ladies cooking the most bizzare concoctions of things! I would love to know how they keep their gas cookers working on a boat, and how they can stand to sit on those wooden slats on their boats for hours on end without cushions! After just 2 hours my bottom was so sore I thought I would never be able to sit down again!
It's sad to be leaving Bangkok. I really do like this city. But I'm more than looking forward to some relaxing on a Balinese beach! Our flight is early tomorrow morning, so we thought instead of spending lots of money on a hotel room for just a few hours, we would sleep rough (or not sleep at all as the case may be!) on the airport floor. I'll let you know how that goes, although I'm sure you can imagine.
Lots of love, xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
