Hey,
So the last few days have been pretty awesome! We've navigated our way successfully around Bangkok, using all manner of transport, but the favourite so far is the river express boat, which offered stunning views of the river and also got us to where we wanted to go cheaply. We decided to stay an extra night here in Bangkok because there were some bits we wanted to see, and today was a real treat because we managed to find this little non-tourist restaurant; the food was so good (and so cheap), but we reckon it must have been a good place to eat because along came some monks to have some lunch! We're off to Cambodia tomorrow. It's going to be a mammoth journey, but scenic. Lots of love

It seems the Thai people (the rich ones anyway) really like their gold and glamour. We checked out the Grand Palace yesterday and I must say it ranged from beautifully intricate sophistication to "glitzyness". The museum dedicated to it was awesome too - if only for the much needed air-conditioning! Today we saw the Golden Buddha which is made of solid gold (5.5 tonnes of the stuff) which was rather impressive, but for sheer majesty it didn't quite beat the Emerald Bhudda (actually made of Jade) at the Grand Palace - who is wearing his winter coat (made of gold obviously). I can't believe they class this as "winter"! Blog yo'll in Cambodia!
