Hi everyone!!!
Tom:
We've arrived safe and sound in Thailand and we still have all of our luggage which was a great relief to both of us. The flight was 10 hours through the night and I only managed half an hour's sleep, but jetlag isn't an issue so far. Our hotel overlooks the beautiful Chao Phraya river so we're very pleased with that. Looking forward to getting out into the city tomorrow, although 30 degrees in a northern hemisphere January will take some getting used to. Speak soon.
Nilufer:
Hello everyone! We made it! And so far there haven't been any domestics or problems! Our flight was really comfortable, food was grand, and I managed to chat away with my neighbour on the plane, who was French. Tom and I didn't get a seat together, probably the reason for the lack of domestics! When we got out of the airport there were a few Thai taxi drivers who tried to persuade us to pay a lot of money to take us to our destination, luckily for us I had the Lonely Planet guide which pointed us in the right direction concerning the public, safer and cheaper transport! On arrival at our destination Tom and I decided to go all Indianna Jones and find our own way to our hotel (a ten-minute walk away), and managed to persuade two other Brits to join us... we got a little lost, and had to put away our Jones's hats and admit defeat. Bartering with Thai tuk tuk drivers is interesting, but we have successfully got to our hotel, had a fantastic meal, and now off to bed. Love to you all! Speak soon.
