Safe and sound after an interesting border crossing into Cambodia! We arrived yesterday afternoon to the hubbub of Siem Reap, went straight to bed and got up early (probably jetlag - or our resident gekko croaking through the night) and checked out Ankgor Wat. This was, without doubt, one of the 3 or 4 most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life - exactly how I want an ancient ruin to look and feel. Tropical, peaceful, serene. A few Jungle Book memories sprang to mind too! We've booked a three day experience so there's evern more to see tomorrow and Saturday before we move on to the capital. Just wanted to thank the guys at the Prince O' Wales again for their hospitality the week before we left - living in a pub was awesome! We're hoping to upload our first batch of photos soon so watch out for those. Speak soon then. TY

Hello, hello! We made it to Cambodia without a hitch! The train from Bangkok to the border was the best train ride ever. We had to get up at stupid o'clock to catch it, but it was well worth it, because the scenery was spectacular, and to top it off, it cost us 48B (less than 50p!!!!) for a 6 hour journey. Anyway, enough about Thailand, let's talk about Cambodia. It's really hot here, dry and jungle like. We checked out Angkor Wat today, which is much bigger than I expected, and it's not only this temple complex that can be found here, but several more. Aparently a week won't do the place justice, but we're short for time and have to do as much as possible in 3! Breath taking doesn't describe the temples. They are all unique and hold a special individual charm. The best for me has to be the iconic temple where the jungle is growing among the ruins, splitting it open - it's a truly awesome sight to behold. We also saw our first wild monkeys (baby monkeys too) among the temples - awesome! And we took in a show of traditional Cambodian dancing whilst eating the best curry Cambodia makes - yum.
Thanks to everyone who's been messaging us. It's great to get some news from the UK. Miss you mum, dad, Levent, Peter and Gulbin, and the Yardleys; lots of love to all my mates; and to the Prince of Wales lot, wish you were here enjoying the beer and chillies with us! xxxx
