well Mataranka was terrific but we must move on so it is off to Darwin.
As it was Anzac Day we went to the Dawn service in Mataranka so it was up early and i must say it was strange to stand a the service in shorts and a tee shirt as we are normally rugged up standing in the main street of Leongatha. The service was wonderful as always with the Air Force conducting the service. After the service we got chatting to a local and i was pleased to learn that we were only one of a few tourists and the rest of the people there were locals, it was a great turnout for such a small community. We got chatting and this wonderful lady said that she had a small station of only 349 square Kilometres (wow and that is small!!!) and that she lived only Half an hour from town and that her kids are in Alice for School and she makes it down there in a Day (extra wow!!) my god these poeple are wonderful she stayed with us for a while for a chat and gave us a real insight into her life we really appriciated but i could not get the size of her property out of my head one of our farms would fit in her front paddock!!
back to the Van and we were off by 8.00am
