Well Darwin was great and the only reason that we didn't stay longer is that we didn't stay longer was the heat and the fact that we thought we were behind schedule (which endin the end we weren't). We stayed at the Howard Springs Holiday park which was about 10mins from Darwin and it was a great park with a terrific pool and very shady sites.

On the first day we went to the Museum which (note free and air condition) had great displays and the highlight being the Cyclone Tracey Display, those poor people and what a great town to get up again but as we would learn throughout this visit this is not an unusual thing for the town to do.We then went to the Cool Place for lunch in Fannie Bay (yes trust me 2 boys and one father can say all the Fannie jokes that have been invented in an hour). Then we had a look at the military Museum which again explained how the town was knocked down and got back up. You can't knock these people down and maybe that is why they have such wonderful natures. Then it was back to camp for a swim and tea. Callum has retreated into the van as it was too hot in the swag but James stuck it out but it also could have accounted for his mood at times.

The boys had booked a barra fishing day the next day and they headed off early. I did the washing and the Cleaning which the van needed as it hadn't had a good clean since we left. And to get away from the heat Callum and I went into the shopping centre for a bit of retail therapy. Then back to camp and more swimming. Then the boys came home and i don't think i have seen such long faces not a bite and that better be were i leave it as they were not happy and the $600.00 down the tubes didn't sit well either.

We spent the rest of the time exploring Darwin and the boys went back to the Wave pool which was great fun and i got to drag them around the night market a

On Minidal beach which was wonderful a very family friendly atmosphere with lots of locals around enjoying the sunset. We went to Corocsorous Cove which now in hindsight i wish we had gone to Crocodilis park as though it was good I think we would have seen and learnt more at the other.
