We spent 3 nights in Katherine the humidity was a lot less there but it was still very hot.
As it was Saturday we went into Katherine and went to the market coming home with the biggest Watermelon available and the boys proceeded to have a watermelon feast in the afternoon. Then we visited the Cutta Cutta Caves and had an evening cruise with the Crocs which was different. We cruised down the Katherine River with our spotlights checking out the crocs eyes and then we pulled up on the bank and the chap started up the Barbie and this croc (freshie called mouse) climbed up the bank to join us. Steve and James stood around it thinking this was great but Callum and I stood back and watched it getting feed. There was an amazing amount of turtles and catfish around the boat to so it was a great night.
Sunday we went on the 3 Gorges cruise which was great as we cruised through the 3 gorges the guide gave us a history of the area and how all the gorges were formed then we got to swim at a waterfall which was again very refreshing as it was still very hot.Again I think that the Nitmulk National Park is one to go back to as it looked really good. On the way back we stopped at a small gallery called the Real didg were we met one of the Aboriginal artist who explained the history of his people and taught aboriginal painting. We were unable to join the group but it was a wonderful experience and James got a Beautiful Didgeridoo which was painted by one of the locals and he will play for you at the drop of a hat.
