When Dan and I woke up we walked into the main area for some breakfast. I was messaging Sara in the morning but she hadn't replied for a while so i guess her guest house had a power cut! Daniel recommended a place he had gone to before called "breakers" which is open plan and had a whether-spoon feel to it with big projectors and loads of quaint pub signs hanging up. We sat down and read the menu.
Before we ordered i popped into 7 eleven which is just opposite to buy water and bumped into Jenny and Alex paying for something. They said Sara was waiting for me and that they had a power cut so i said to bring Sara out and join me and Dan for breakfast. I went back to the table after getting water and we both ordered the same thing; Full English breakfast. This meal was a gut buster and i knew when i ordered it that i wouldn't be able to finish it but ordered it anyway.
After we ordered, the girls came up and met us and i introduced them properly to Daniel. The food came shortly after and there was heaps of it. Two different sausages, back bacon, mushrooms, tomato, egg, beans, hash brown and toast! The meal also included a drink and i went for orange juice. The girls ordered there food after and one ordered muesli with fruit which made me feel greedy as anything. It was beginning to get really hot and i could only eat a bit of the breakfast, finished the hash brown though because it was sooo nice, the best one i've had out here.
Once everyone had finished and we paid the bill we set off for the beach. We went to the one where woody's beach bar is as there's more places to get food and drink. Walking through is like walking through a village of bars, cats, locals on bicycles and food stalls. It's a good atmosphere everywhere. When we got to the beach we walked to the right and into a bar that provided sponge loungers to sunbathe one so we all lay our towels out and ordered a drink.
There were around a dozen boats dotted around the shore and the sea looks so blue and the temperature os perfect; not too warm but not cold. I laid in the sun for a while but was itching to go into the sea so off me and Daniel went. Sara joined us later and we all had a swim and chat. We noticed the top of a boat poking out from the sea so swam up to it. There was lots of moss in the sea and we figured it was coming from the rotting boat on the sea bed. I stood on it but nearly slipped off as it was so slipery. After we all had a swim we went back to chill in the sun.
Daniel noticed two guys smoking weed so i went over to ask where they bought it and they said from banana bar for 1,000TB. We thought this was a pretty good deal and after seeing so many people smoking it we gave in and headed through town to find the bar. We found it down a small road in the end and went up the spiral staircase to the rooftop lounge. There we approached the thai man behind the bar who was covered in tattoos for a bag and he went into a small silver box brought out a pretty big bag and we paid him like he was selling an orange juice. We headed back to the beach and i got a slice of tuna pizza on the way back as it looked delicious and i was peckish.
We got back to the girls and rolled a joint to smoke in the sun. Once we finished it we decided it wasn't a good idea to get high in the heat of the sun but thank god there was the sea to cool off in. After a while the girls left to have a nap and me and daniel stayed at the bar chilling and having a nap. When we woke up we headed back to the comfort of our air conditioned room. We had arranged to go out tonight and would get to the girls room at around 21:00.
We had a little nap and when we woke up it was dinner time so we headed back to breakers for some food. The town was already busy with party goers carrying buckets of mixers and big groups of chinese people. The gibbons are also out with their owners dressed in human clothes posing for photos with tourists. I think the gibbon is close to extinction; the black one is anyway so maybe it's good that they are in safe hands on the island and are in no danger to poaching. The owner does care for it as i've seen him hugging and giving it a little peck. .
At breakers we both went for a burger. It was served American style in a plastic basket lined with grease proof paper. The chips were a bit overdone for my liking but it was generally a delicious meal and cost around £4. Once we paid the bill we headed to sara's place for pre drinks. We bought a beer each of chang and singha and headed up the concrete steps to their room. We chilled there for a while having some good old girly conversations while slowly getting tipsy. We took lots of photos together and "same same but different" ones of sara and i, we went a bit selfie mad. They were drinking hong thong whiskey and iced tea and when dan and i polished off our beers we headed to 7/eleven to buy what they were drinking.
A small bottle of hong thong cost 165TB which £3, dead cheap! And we got a big bottle of ice tea to accompany it. We headed back to the room and poured ourselves a drink using empty water bottles, classy. Once we were all pretty merry we noticed it was getting quite late so headed out to one of the bars along the beach. We ended up at a place called "Slinky" as it's the most in your face. The dance floor is pretty much the entrance and the music is booming out loud enough for the whole island to hear. When we walked in it was crazy. Heavy house music and strobe lights with a big group of drunk tourists dancing and having a good time. We ordered a bucket and began dancing altogether.
Despite hating dancing and clubbing Daniel got pretty into it and really enjoyed himself. I forgot what it was like to be in that environment. I was being wing woman for sara as she would pretend that me and her were sisters and every time, they all believed her. We spied a tall arab looking man in a white Abercrombie and fitch t-shirt and decided he looked like a respectful man and soon enough he came over to chat to Sara. The whole night consisted of sharing buckets, dancing, getting away from creepy men and just having a good time. Sara and i even did a duet belly dance together to club music it was odd but it worked. There is a tall pedestal type thing that drunk tourists climb up and dance on and surprisingly, not one of them fell off. It got to around 02:00 when we decided to call it a night. Alex had stayed behind staring at the bar man as she had developed a "thing" for thai boys. Daniel was far drunk than me and it was hilarious watching him walk back to the room. It didn't take us long to fall asleep.
