Another Wow factor day. Left New Plymouth early and drove down to Egmont to take the road up to Mt Taranaki. This is an amazing view- see picture. This doesn't do it justice really. I've got better ones but having trouble with space now. Went to the base of the mountain at 3100 ft, mountain rises to something like 8200. Classic mountain shape and still active but currently dormant. Used as a stand in for Fuji for one of the samurai films. Drove up the 'forgotten highway' or whatever it's called. It is as difficult as they say and I am completely knackered now. Deserved a beer so had three. Nothing changes eh! Now in Hamilton ready for the final drive up to the Auckland area. Free wifi tonight! Hope you are all well and keeping warm. We are.

Steve Lucas Keeping warm is the 'order of the week' in South Notts as snow showers abound yet again as I write (0820 hours Wed 20th). I've forgotten what Ramsdale GC looks like Mike ! Will you have any time to do anything in AKL before you fly out on Saturday ? Bet you're both looking forward to chilling out for a week before the beastly flights back to Blighty ? Take care and enjoy your final few days in Aotearoa. Best wishes, S and J xx
mikeyvonnewarren We fly out on Monday, our time so we spent today at the test match and have tickets to do the same on Sunday. Eden Park is impressive but not that many people in.
