18th AugustWent back to the pool today to sunbathe, it was absolutely boiling again, not as hot as yesterday but still blistering...went back to the hostel at about 6 and headed down towards Little Italy. We decided to Walk down 3rd Ave/Bowery to try and find Patricia Fields shop but couldnt find it. Well we arrived in New York around midday into Penn St Station. What a crazy place! We wandered around aimlessly for about 30 minutes before we asked someone how to get to our hostel. Then once we were on the 2 train we started to relax a little bit, until a guy came into our carriage shouting about how he had HIV and was homeless and could he have some money!!! We just kept our heads down...this was only the first of many outbursts from people on the tube asking...

Got to Philadelphia at about 8pm and headed to the Travelodge. It worked out about $2 more a night than a 6 bed dorm room so we thought we would treat ourselves to our own bathroom as it is the end of the trip. Got in and just watched Tv and got an early night. Gemma however, had gotten a text from her friend Billy who we were supposed to be satying with in New York saying he was now away on a business trip until the 18th so we couldnt stay, he said he would ask ...

We got on the tube on time only to hear an announcement sayign die to line works there would be a replacement bus service between 4 stations and then we would reboard a train which would take us to the airport. We had about 45 minutes speare when we got to the airport, but when we got to US airways desk it was a complete shambles. I tried to check in at a kiosk and it woudnt let me then we head a guy say come forward for the 7:25 flight so we did and he typed it ...

29th Arrived about midday and dropped our bags off at the hostel. we cant check into until 3pm so had a wander around the city. Went to the waterfront and saw the Sears Tower. We met a girl called Erica in Charlottetown who said it is pointless going up the Sears tower and we should go to the Hancock centre instead and get a cocktail because it is exactly the same view!
