Arrived about midday and dropped our bags off at the hostel. we cant check into until 3pm so had a wander around the city. Went to the waterfront and saw the Sears Tower. We met a girl called Erica in Charlottetown who said it is pointless going up the Sears tower and we should go to the Hancock centre instead and get a cocktail because it is exactly the same view! We went to a really nice small cafe for food called "The Green" and it has a mini crazy golf course as well. Ate a cheese plate, hummus, and chicken wings and drank white wine sangria which was lovely. Went back to the hostel about 5pm and crashed. we had been up since 4am and were pretty tired so read our book and had a very early night.

Today we finished the sightseeing. Went to see "The Bean" and where the music festivals take place, also went up to Mag Mile and looked in some of the shops. Went for some food and then had some drinks near Millenium Park. They have free dance lessons every night until 7 and then free music till 9:30pm so we were going to go to that but then a band were playing in the bar so we stayed there instead and then went to listen to the free Jazz, which wasn't very good and then it started to rain so we took refuge back in the bar and ended up staying there till 11pm.

Woke up with the most horrific headache and so did Gemma. We didnt even drink that much, but we havent been out in nearly 2 weeks and I think the wine must have been very strong. Luckily we had nothing taxing to do, so headed to Ohio Beach and sunbathed for the whole day. The beach is overlooked by some offices and i think it must kill the employees to look out at people sunbathing all day. Had a quick bite to eat at an American diner. I ordered ham and cheese sandwhich but it came deep fried so didnt eat that much of it, then we headed back to the hostel for another fairly early night.

Happy Birthday Mum!!! Hope you are doing something nice. The cloud has come over again so we have come to the library to use the Internet and then we are going to watch a film and later go for dance lessons in the park and then to the hancock observatory for a cocktail and then the Pier has fireworks at 10:15pm tonight so we will probably go and have a look at those. Cant stay out too late as we have to be up at 4am tomorrow to get our 7:25am train. The subway is right next door to the hostel but takes an hour to get to the airport!
When we arrived at the Hancock building the queue to get up to the bar so really long so we were queuing till about 9:50pm...once we got up there the views were amazing. There was another queue to get seated in the bar so we snuck into the ladies bathroom which we had been told had the most amazing view, it definitely does, and there was noone else in there so managed to get some good pictures. We sat and had a cocktail wishing we were rich and could do this every night! Unfortunately though we could only afford one so we went back to the hostel packed up ready to get up at 4am for the tube to the airport!
