Both mine and Aurora’s first visit to this pretty little resort. It was made famous in Europe by Brigitte Bardot. There’s an awful statue to her on the sea front.
It’s an eminently walkable place. Barbara and I took an early tender into town and after wandering around for a while, met Rob and Linda. We had a cup of coffee then strolled to the beach where we took a water taxi to Tartaruga Beach. This was really crowded, so we sat in a local bar with beers and Caipirinhas before retracing our steps. An enjoyable visit to a pleasant resort. As we were preparing to leave for Rio, the captain came on to say that it would be 33 tomorrow!
Barbara had the beginnings of a cold and sore throat and went to bed soon after embarking. She wasn’t much better when I came back for the night. I hope she’ll be OK for the trip to Petropolis tomorrow. After dinner the others went to some dance quiz, but Rob and I sat by the Pennant Bar with a G&T each until the Syndicate Quiz. We scored 17 and the winners had a tie break on 19.
