Woke up at 9:00 am today aching all over! Bruised, and tired! Got showered and packed all of our bags ready to leave to go back South to the capital city! We have to travel back to get our visa so we can come back up north to China!!
A load of messing around as it takes a full day travelling to get from Vang Vieng to Vientiane and vice versa! Plus we already spent a week in VV and there's nothing more for us to see! But still this is the only place with an embassy!
We went and booked the bus and checked out then went for noodle soup again at 12:00! Annie got a message from Allie and Cat that they were doing another day tubing today and to see if we could join them... If only id have known earlier we would have done but now the bus was booked :((
We got picked up at 1:00 then waited an hour in the station for the bus back! We arrived back in Vientiane over 3 hours later and then got on a minibus to the town, we were the first ones to catch the bus so we asked the driver to drop us at Mixay Paradise, the guesthouse we stayed at last time...
This was more convenient as they just stop the buses wherever they please and leave you to your own devices so, maybe not that useful for everyone else on the bus, but right on the doorstep for us ;) we quickly got our bags and went straight to the guesthouse before anyone else tried there as the rooms full up quickly there! We got the last room! It would be the most expensive room though... $15 including 2breakfasts which is still only just over £5 each, I know that that's cheap and everyone thinks we're cheapskates but the last guesthouse was half that price and meant we can spend twice as long travelling!
We preferred the room we were in last time, it had a view looking over the temple outside, it was bigger and it was cheaper! This room has a view of the fire escape by the side of the building but its more expensive as it has cable tv! :/ I really didn't travel 2/3rds around the world to watch tv!
We agreed it would only be for one night until another room came free, so we dumped our bags and went to eat! Straight to the cute little lady's stall again for Ice coffee and noodle soup! It tastes amazing and comes up to around £2! The best thing about Laos is probably the food! In fact that's my favourite thing about Asia! Il miss the noodles dearly...
We wanted to go get visas sorted out right away but dumb and dumber here didn't realise it was Saturday and the embassy is closed for the weekend! We should've stayed in Vang Vieng another day!
Doing tubing you can also go off of a huge slide going into the river and there's also a blob bar where you jump onto a giant inflatable blob floating in the river, then when the next person jumps on, you catapult into the air! This would have made for another exciting blog as we didn't have time to do it all yesterday but we can maybe go back and do that once our visa is eventually sorted!
