Things are really moving quickly and it is hard to believe how quickly we are traveling country to country now. We first stopped in Hamburg after leaving Denmark. We stayed in a lovely little town called Bad Bramstedt, about 40 Kilometres from Hamburg. We traveled in for two days by train which took us about an hour and a half to get us to the centre of town. We found it very hard to find information for tourists, but we did find some beautiful parks and old churches to look at. The highlight of our visits would have been seeing the Miniature Wunderworld, a fantastic display that takes up a warehouse and includes a functioning airport, a bay with beaches and a 4 cm tide! We spent three and a half hours looking around, it was truly amazing. After two days we headed to Frankfurt to stay with friends just out of the city in a town called Wiesbaden. Our friends gave us a great three days showing us through a monastery dating from the twelfth century and took us along the Rhein river to see all the castles, it was a area with incredible history and beauty. Leaving Wiesbaden we went to Heidelberg and had a look at the famous Heidelberg Castle. We were a little underwhelmed by it, but it was still worth the look. Then it was a quick blast along another Autobahn to Luxembourg. Well it was quick where there were no traffic jams!

Janet McIntrye Yep, it must be so different after the expanse of Mongolia! There was a film called something like "If This is Tuesday, It Must Be Paris". Maybe you're feeling a little like that. Good that you have photos and writing to remind you of where you are, what you saw and how you responded. Such adventures! Much love, Jan xxx
Lisa McIntyre I love Germany and make it my aim to get there every year - somewhere different each time. Heidelberg and Hamburg are already high on my list of candidates for my visit - it's interesting to see how different they look in your photos.
Sarah Ward Miniature Wunderworld, I remember seeing the footage of it with you both somentime ago, it's great that you were able to see it
