After the rain yesterday, we wake up to a beautiful sunny morning. Perfect for a day of exploring around Lake Mÿvatn. Not far from the hotel is Höfdi Promontory which reaches into the waters of the lake and is known for its interesting lava formations and rocky outcrops. The water in the lake is crystal clear. We don't have far to travel today distance wise so have a leisurely start. However we had not bargained on a flat tyre. Hertz were no use at all. Basically change it and get it fixed! We were unable to get it off after many attempts so the concierge at the hotel called a tyre repair place and a guy can out and put air in and we followed him back to the workshop where they extracted the nail and fixed the puncture.
