Today was one of our easier rides. A little more than 42 miles and about 2,000 feet of elevation. We rode on a lot of bike trails and stopped in at a bike store in Santa Cruz. I replaced my tires with Specalized Armadillos we are more impervious to punctures. When we arrived at our camping destination the rangers were difficult to deal with. Today was a fun ride into Monterey. The trail took us inland where we saw many farms. Broccli, lettuce, avacados, brussel sprouts, kale, and several types of green vegetables were grown in the fields around us. The farm roads were rough but it was much better than riding along Pacific Highway 1. We are staying in a large group campsite at the Veterans State Campground.
