Today was our day off. Biked to Chetco Point Park and Harris Beach. The day started cloudy but the the sun came out and warmed things up. It was a great relaxing day. We are re-energized for heading into California tomorrow.

Today was a wash out. Driving rain and wind continued into the night and this morning. The group decided to shuttle to our over night acommodations at the Brookings Inn. It was perfect timing as our down day is tomorrow and everything is soaking wet.

Today turned out to be a chaotic day. Right out of camp our navigation took us to a blocked off road. We traveled on blocked roads before so we thought we were okay. It was a gravel road which took us past a golf course to another gate which we have to carry our bike over. We then passed a remote house that had a big black dog that chased after Laura. Luckily it was friendly when it caught up to her. We continued past a third gate where the road narrowed but open...

This day was a good one with sun and reasonable temps in the 60s. There were several small towns with nice beaches. The main obstacle was a one mile bridge with one lane in each direction. Our leader was kind in shuttling us across it so we didn't suffer the wrath of the traffic. Some of us walked half way on a narrow sidewalk then biked the down hill side. Camped in Sunset Bay State Park.

Today was a bittersweet day. We had great weather and went through some cute little towns. The drivers were very aggressive beeping their horns and yelling out their windows. Laura was squeezed off the road by a pickup towing a trailer. It was an extremely close call. Laura was shaken up by the near miss. We are seriously thinking of cancelling the trip and coming home. Tonight we are camping at Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park.
