First thing that hit us about Udaipur was the 39 degrees at 6 o'clock in the evening, this place is hot. Mumbai was a sticky and polluted 32 degrees, here we reach the mid 40s during the day, but luckily it's dry.
Udaipur, one of the 3 most important cities of Rajasthan, is also called the Venice of the East (!!) I guess it's because of the 2 beautiful lakes and the magnificent palaces that emerge from the water. That's why it was crucial to have a room with a view of the lake and palaces, but, we are here in low season, and the two beautiful lakes are 2 tiny puddles were the random cows go for a drink. Just our luck!
Despite the heat and the draught, we like Udaipur and we are really blending in:
-we are no longer surprised by the cows or elephants crossing the road
-we eat vegetarian everyday (even Davide!!)
-we dress like the locals
-our feet are constantly filthy
Next stop: Jodhpur
