We arrived in Shanghai on Thursday at lunch time on another sleeper train - getting quite used to them now. We spent the first few hours wandering around then Bund which is very comercialised. The skyline view in Shanghai is amazing, there are skyscrapers are far as you can see in every direction. We went up the rather strange looking tv toiwer in the middle of the city. Aparently its the biggest is asia - aren't they lucky!Apart from a really good view at the top the most interesting thing was a set of photos of the skyline of Shanhai which showed the city each year since 1980. At the start there is one sky scraper and each year there is about 4 new taller ones!
We went to an acrobat show in the evening which was really good - highlights were a titanic act which had a man and women flying around on drapes of silk. The final act started with a man riding a motorbike round a sphere cage upside down and ended with 5 people in their all on motorbikes - amazing!
Next day we went on a early morning river cruise to see some more sights and explored some of the old part of Shanghai.
I must mention the 'massage' places aswell. You walk down a street and every 4 shops will be a brothel will girls with tiny dresses calling you in. Its a bit strange that the prostituation its that blatent.
Next day (sat) we caught our next train to Yanshao - 23 hours here we come!!
