Happy Birthday to me!!
Last night I found a great way to celebrate getting older. My flatmate Clint works for Hitachi and they had a work do so I went along as well. Since it was St Patrick's Day it was always going to be a big one and it definitely ended up that way.
We started at about 4 at The Lucky Shag (there's a photo of it in the Perth album) and managed to sink a fair few before we got on a bus at about 6.30 and headed out towards the Swan Valley to a vineyard. Once there we got to drink as much wine and beer as we wanted and then got a really nice dinner. After that we had to get our 'sea-legs' as we got on a boat to cruise back up the Swan River into central Perth. We were allowed to drink as much as we wanted on the boat too so it was great. It was such a lovely still night and the water was so smooth.
Once we got back to Perth we headed to the casino at Burswood with Pam and Grant who I met on the trip and it turns out are Kiwis but have lived here for about 17 years or so. It's weird at the casino here as pokie machines as we know them are banned in WA but the first thing I saw when we got into the casino was all these machines that look just like pokie machines!! Crazy. They are pokie machines I guess but they just have gambling games on them like poker and stuff not like the ones we have. So talk about confusing!!
We got sick of the casino pretty quickly so went to an Irish Bar which is in the casino complex and spent the rest of the night there. Was great!! Ended up in Midlands which is about 20minute drive from Central Perth for breakfast at 4 in the morning so much definitely was a good night!
So I got a hangover for my birthday and didn't do much although it was definitely worth it.
Unfortunately no photos of this. Probably good there is no evidence really!
