Day 2 In The Big Beijing House

Another day gone.....
Long lie this morning after struggling to get to sleep until around 6am.

We walked the legs off a donkey today.
We got dropped off in the Chaoyang district and took a walk round the shopping mall for a few hours sampling a few vodkas on the way :-)

We havent quite mastered the art of map reading as we got lost many a time trying to locate the Hard Rock Cafe.

Turns out we ended up walking 4 miles in a circle before we noticed the Hard Rock Cafe was no more than 50m from where we originally got dropped off in the taxi.

You'll never see rush hour traffic like over here. Its absolute bedlam.
If theres a gap as big as the gap between your fingers then they will try and squeeze their car in.

After finally arriving at Hard Rock for a well deserved break we ordered some food followed by 4 refreshing pints of Stella.

The Mac & Cheese was tasty good.......the pints werent bad either

Was good to be in amongst other tourists after another day of feeling the burning eyes of the locals staring at you. Although, we have come to the conclusion that the Hard Rock Cafe is the pick up point for the ladies of the night after seeing many of the old wrinkled Germans being charmed by the local Asian girls.

We called it a night around 1am and got a taxi back to the hotel only to turn on the CNN news and discover that ChristChurch had suffered a 7.0 earthquake and that a Cargo plane had crashed in Dubai........so Lauras in panic mode again.

Nothing that a wee cocktail tomorrow wont fix :-)
