The big day has finally come around. Our sky dive. Picked up from our hostel at 7am and made our way to the air strip. Unfortunately we were assigned into the second group (along with Matt who we met on the Whitsunday's trip) which meant we had to wait for about an hour in reception for the first group to get back. After what felt 2 hours I met Jacko who would be jumping with me. We did the interview for the video and got kitted up before getting on the plane. The flight was roughly 20 minutes up to 14000ft. Red light -goggles on, orange light - open door, green light - jump. Rich was 3rd out, Adam 4th and I was 5th. We were all out within a minute giving you no chance to question what your about to do. You shuffle over to the exit, dangle your legs outside the plane, head back arms crossed. Go. The first few seconds was an insane feeling then after straightening up you stretch your arms wide and enjoy the fall. After a rough 60 seconds free fall the parachute opened which was quite a jolt and then i had the chance to fly the parachute doing some spins through the clouds. Before long it was time to lift your feet up for landing which for me was quite smooth. Final interview for the video before getting back on the coach. Incredible experience that I would love to do again.
