It's been chucking down most of the night and this morning a few tents are being packed away.
The campsite is located near a former flour mill. The building is now the home of the campsite owners and on most Sundays they run the waterwheel and invite campers into their home to share the mill's history. Ali catches a break in the showers and goes for a look around.
The mill dates from the 17th century and was last used to produce flour in 1947. Inside the living space two large grinding wheels around 5 feet across sit side by side driven by the waterwheel through giant gear wheels made of oak. Wood is used for two reasons; first any damage due to debris is easier to repair, and secondly metal gears may cause sparks and fine, dusty flour can be explosive. The owners explain that the toilets, shower block and shop are all located in the former stores and workshops, and they are not allowed to erect any further buildings for amenities anywhere else on site.
The forecast for the rest of the day looks bleak so we plan to spend the afternoon watching the Chinese Grand Prix only to find that the site had a partial power failure last night which has blown the TV distribution. Paul the owner is going from pitch to pitch offering to set up a TV in the shop area if anyone wants it but we can't be bothered to get wet just for a motor race so we spend the afternoon reading and playing music.
Early evening Dick&Ali go to the pub to use the wi-fi but don't stay long as the wages info for Ali's freelance payroll hasn't been e-mailed yet.
After steak for dinner D&J come in for a drink. It's finally stopped raining and the night air is full of owls hooting in the woods.
