Got up early to leave for our 6 hour road trip from Lithgow to Tamworth. Heading to Tamworth just to see this 'Golden Guitar' and to see what all the fuss is. The trip was ok, lovely countryside to look at and got to Tamworth around 2pm. Checked into a caravan park just outside of town for $35 per night.
After setting up, this is starting to become quite streamed with Marty and l doing our own parts, we headed into Tamworth for a look around. First stop was the 'Golden Guitar'! OMG, was a bit disappointed. Thought there was more to it than what it was. It wasnt as big as l had imagined. Either way, we can say we have been there and done it. Took a few photos then headed to Oxley Scenic Lookout. This was pretty cool, got to see the whole town of Tamworth with the sun setting. Took a few pics, then headed off to Macca's for a feed and then back to the caravan park to shower and get a good nights sleep.
Off to Port Macquarie tomorrow, bit nervous as the weather forecast is showing rain, rain and more rain with strong winds. Will assess things tomorrow l suppose.
