I arrived at Tin Mine Huts mid-afternoon and with fine weather a bit of sun and a stiff breeze I was able to dry all my wet gear from yesterday and last night. Today I struggled physically, I felt weak for most of the day and at one point almost fainted. I put this down to not eating a proper dinner last night. I've told and force-fed hundreds of kids when they didn't feel like it but didn't take my own advice. Stupid really. Ah well, tonight will be hearty indee...

A weird kind of day today. If I was in a worse head space a number of things would have got to me. I basically sat in the hut mentioned in the previous blog until about 4 when a very sheepish sun finally poked it's head through the enveloping clouds. It was time to set off to Kosi. Predictably enough by now(!) the weather turned as I got to Rawson Pass (the very developed saddle below Kosi). This basically meant there was no point climbing up. A little disappoint...

It was with some emotion a that i set off from the panelvan and my brother yesterday evening. I left Charlotte Pass just after 6pm I had intended to summit Kosciusko and then night ride down to Dead Horse Gap. I set off at a cracking pace as the rest day had done my muscles proud. However as I crossed the headwaters of the (once) mighty Snowy I could see clouds and rain brewing to the south west. The race was well and truly on. I could see Seamens Hut on the spu...

So today marks a couple of quite ales a load of washing and some bike repairs (thanks Marty @ sacred cycles). Not much more to report apart from the fact that I'll post again this evening after I top out on our old friend Kosciusko!

Today was a day where the push to Valentines was to make today extraordinarily easy. For the first time on the trip to date the descending metres outstripped the ascending!! It promised to be a lot of fun and delivered. A little undulating until the junction of Schlink Track and the reintroduction to leveled, cambered and perfectly benched dirt road, not just two wheel ruts or worse impressions on grass! With the ease of riding came many audible whoops and yahoos...
