Onto the bus at 8am for a city tour with local guide Richard interesting history about Mary queen of Scots then to Holyrood palace where the royal lived, and where Princess Zara recently got married a few weeks ago. Got to walk through the palace, then back on the bus and drove the 'Royal Mile' from the palace to Edinburgh castle, had a tour of the castle, great views. Saw the crown jewels etc. The canon went off at 1pm, had a look through the war museum at the castle. Then walked down the royal mile and watched some of the street performances as part of the fringe festival. Mark feeling really crook, went to the hotel for the afternoon, Mark slept and I wrote some postcards and went for a walk to post them. Had lovely dinner at hotel just the two of us in their restaurant. Then rugged up and headed back to the castle for the Military Tatoo, wow what a spectacular performance, it rained, so was a bit wet and cold but that didn't matter, then walked back to hotel amongst the crowds, Mark lasted well considering.
