Up early and off to Eagles Nest. Superb day, clear skies and no wind, guides have never seen it like this. We were in Germany!!! for a few hours at least. Awesome views. Made the place in 13 months, 1800m altitude and in 1938. Then back to hotel by noon. Hot day 25°C. Walked to Fortress, had original Mozart Balls on the way - very rich chocolate truffle. Caught Funicular up to Fortress and spent a few hours up there - in fort and museum. Then down and off to Mirabell Gardens (SOM), then off to beer hall/garden. Beer served in clay mugs, very drinkable and had some dinner from the food stalls too. Very social with families bringing picnics and enjoy a beer or two. Walked home around 9pm and it was still 21°C!
