Yesterday we flew from Beijing to Xi'an and arrived at our hostel which has the biggest bed ever for us we reckon you could fit 4 people in it (or one Jane and One Mark stretched out).
We had a wander to the city walls and walked along them for a bit which was cool; they are so big that it takes about 4 hours to walk around, or you can cycle or take a rickshaw; thats on the top of the wall bythe way. We decided to jog around and it only took about 30minutes. There was also some cultural thing going on at the wall so we had a watch and saw some drum playing and soldiers running around.
Today we went to see the Terracotta Warriors with the nicest guide ever. We were told the tour was just to the warriors and would be 2 hours (this turned into a full day including a trip to a Terracotta Warrior museum (factory!!), the emperors tomb mound and also the warriors.
The warriors are pretty amazing it was cool to se so many of them all standing in rows, you could also see sites where they are still uncovering them and restoring them. It is such a massive site there must be lots more treasure buried there; maybe that can be the next Indiana Jones (just no aliens).
We had a fun bus ride there (our tyre punctured and the driver just kept on driving on it; the police just drove past without a worry) and back (a very bumpy road).
We met some nice people on our tour who were staying at our hostel and had dinner and a few beers with them (but not the hyena girl).
