Last day in Beijing today. We took a walk to the Temple of Heaven which is set in a lovely garden. Th temple is where the emperors prayed for good harvests. The main building is the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests which is 38m high and is made from all wood with no nails or cement which is a pretty nifty piece of engineering. It was relatively quite around the temple (for china at least) and was nice for an outing. We saw lots of people dancing in the park and also people playing the soon to catch on craze of foot badminton (Mark needs a bit extra practice).
Went for lunch but it was a chore, the waiters were arguing about who had to serve us because none of them wanted to!
On the subway we tried dancing to cheer up the chinese; only one person was charmed by us and described Marks dancing as "wonderful".
We went tea shopping on the way back after Mark took a free sample and we then felt obliged to buy loads of tea after the lady kept making us try more and more tea.
