The rain last night continued into the night, and this morning! It wasn’t looking good for the day! Our plan was to go to the zoo so we donned our waterproofs and braved the rain. It was a fair walk but about 1/3 of the way in, the rain was too heavy and our waterproofs were not keeping us that dry, probably because they are only shower proof and this was like torrential rain! We took cover in Starbucks hoping that it would ease, yet it seemed to do the opposite! We made our drinks last as long as possible before braving it again! The zoo was abandoned and we went in search of a postcard for Ella and Tom instead! We ended up down at navy pier again after going wrong and taking cover a few times! We dried ourselves off and found food!
We had to catch the train at 6.40pm but had to be there early so we ran back to the hostel to collect our bags and then made our way to the train station. Once there we dried off properly and changed into dry clothes as we were both soaked through! We had to wait a while at the station, and then even longer once it was delayed! We were kept amused by some cute children playing, two of which ended up in front of us! 
Today was an eventful one! We now know why Chicago is named the Windy city! And to top it off, Mark is now full of cold, which will be great fun on the train!
