We both slept surprisingly well but were awoken to announcement saying that one of the engines wasn't working and that we were already 2 hours behind schedule! They decided to carry on with one engine but it meant going much slower and delaying us even more.
In a way this suited us as we could catch up on sleep, laze around and Mark could stay snug and try and get rid of his cold. The only problem being that I was catching his cold! Humf!
We made slow progress for a while but soon stopped just outside a station for about 2hours while engineers tried to fix the problem. They eventually got us running again and we were off..5 hours late!! We were given snacks and water but it was hardly worth it! We eventually arrived in Washington DC at 6.10pm!
We found our way to the hostel quite easily and it is nice and welcoming! It is just like home, you have to take your shoes off at the front door! The people running it were very friendly and we feel at home here! We saw lots of trick or treaters on our way..I want to go trick or treating as I fancy some goodies..humf!
