Had breakfast at the hostel again! Weather didn't look too great - very cloudy and dull! As soon as we left we could feel drops of rain but we ploughed on! Our plan was to catch the bus to the 'Hoodoos' which are famous rock formations! However, once on the bus the route seemed very short and before we knew it we ended up coming back on ourselves and back into town! We had to walk the route back up part of the mountain (Tunnel Mountain). Somehow we ended up missing the turning for the 'hoodoos' and found ourselves on the mountain road! As we were already part of the way up the mountain, we decided to carry on and hike the rest of it to the top! Was a lil concerned at first as there didn't seem to be many people around and there were bear warnings on the signs! Mark took down the number you call if you see a bear or cougar...just in case!! Adventurous I know but it was a nice scenic walk to the top! The views were amazing as you could probably imagine and see from the pics! The trail took you around both sides of the mountain so we had great views on either side!
We stopped for lunch at the peak before making our way down and back into town! The whole walk took about 3hours. We then chiilled for a bit in the coffee shop (not as nice as Tim's!) and then took the bow falls trail which took you along the river and to the waterfalls at the end. Was a lovely walk and even saw someone having their wedding photos taken!
Was planning to go horse riding but ran out of time and are now thinking of doing it in Lake Louise.
The buses in Banff have bike racks on the front! How cool..but also how lazy!!
