For a change I am not in my room typing a blog but I am in the kitchen, enjoying my salad and enjoying the music here. I am still not used to the daily life in the hostels, though I am learning. I know how it works now with laundry usually, and that ppl have their whole bags with food and coolbags in the fridges with names on it. I also experience that most of the girls on the rooms don't want to talk to eachother something I can't get used to either. Maybe I was spoiled in my first dorm room, when we had a nice group of people who actually talked a lot to eachother. Yeah well, at least I have a nice bed to sleep in, and there's a shower to have the much needed daily showers. ;)
Today was such a hot day, I heard at the tennis that the temperature reached 44 degrees tody. Right now, it's evening, when you enter the street from this airconditioned building, it feels like you enter an oven. And I am not saying this to make the story stronger haha. But I survived the day with lots and lots of water and orange juice. :D
It was a strange day, because all the first matches were spaniards. On court 4 we had this doubles match of Fernando with David Marrero, e court further was Guillermo Garcia Lopez and then on court 6 Feliciano. It was hard but I chose to be with Feliciano, at least to sit on his court hehe :PBloody hot out there, but he won his match in 3 sets! Woohoo, happy to see a win as first match this year, now I don't mind he's not coming to Rotterdam, it's better to see him shine in the heat. He didn't celebrate much in the end, but it was a hard faught match for sure. With lots of spanish swearing...
After this we were cooked and boiled and almost dehydrated, so it was time for a lunch break in the shade. of course not before seeing the last part of the match of Granollers/Lope, who were up second on court 8, right behind Feli's court. Such a pity that Feli had to win in 3 and not in 2, now we missed every other match that was going on. so no pics of Fernando and David unfortunately.
For a while it was too hot to be too active, but then again, I get restless and wanted to walk a little bit around. Not much to see, but this hanging and doing nothing is just not my cup of tea ;) Later I made some pics of other matches around, with one of them the doubles match of Simon/Roger-Vasselin, who lost in the super tiebreak. Suddenly I heard a Holaaaaa behind me and guess what? It was Marc Lopez. :)) LOL.
To end the day at the tennis, we watched the match between Fognini and Dimitrov. When the other girls had left, I went to that court again to see some of the Bryan brothers. In fact, I waited for ages till a womens doubles match would start, as I promised pictures of Llagostera Vives, but these girls just weren't on court. At seven they still weren't there so I gave up and went home. Tomorrow it's gonna be incredible early so I needto sleep a bit earlier than the days before. I love making the most of my days but last night I was too tired to properly shut my laptop down. I woke up and it was on the ground and my memory card was somewhere else. Haha, imagine how I went looking for my card on the floor with my torch.
Anyway, I forgot to tell that I also have some pics of Fernando stomping grapes today. I remember one comment he said to the tv when stomping there.'i should rest right now, but instead I am working out again' LOL. It gave us nice pics for sure. :)
Let me show them to you. Sorry if I won't comment too much but it's the time of the day. I just had a nice conversation with an italian who studies english here, so my idea of sitting in the kitchen seems to work. Maybe I should do that more often. Write in the kitchen. :)
And you know what? I'm gonna miss Sydney. I didn't think I would feel at home in a city this big, but I do. I love it here and wish I could stay more and longer. Just hoping I like Melbourne as much as I love it here. The next few days I am with an international group of people on the way to Melbourne, so I don't know if I can keep writing here or not.
Talk laters my mates! :)
