Wow,
Can you believe I took that picture...
Airlie Beach is the port for Whitsundays sailing, so came to Airlie, did a bit of shopping and went to sailing on Friday. Bought myself a hat! haha x
I am impressed with the whole sea notion. Kinda. Not keen on the sea sickness but everything else was great. You had the spray of sea water on ur face, perfect surroundings, occasionally cat fish coming up your boat feeding on the bread (skipper throws it over) and the best sunsets and sunrises you could ever imagine.
As well as this, there was some brilliant people onboard - precisely 1 English, 1 half English, half Scottish, 2 Irish, 6 Germans, 6 Swedes, 2 Canadians, 2 Czechs, 1 Finish and 1 American. Perfect combination of people and we all had a brilliant time. And it is so much fun playing drinking games on a boat. We sailed the Islands, stopped off at a couple, sunbathed and snorkelled and scuba dived. And also play Tug of war with the rival boat- Habibi. We won of course- but like i said we had 6 germans and 6 swedes, and the men are purpose built for power and games and stuff.
Food was great- we had the best meal ever! roast dinner with real roast potatoes and gravy! and of course lots of wine! The crew were great and later on, after we docked, the guests all met for a great BBQ. Good weekend!
