The south of Portugal is Castle land. I can just see the whole middle ages here. Castle with the nobles and all the peasants working the fields below and living in the houses outside the castle walls. Truly amazing to travel in the plains and then boom there is a hill and low and behold a castle on top. I think every hill in this part of Portugal has a castle on it.

The Landscape reminds me alot of Texas. It was nice for a change to have a brake from curvey mountain roads. Sometimes you just need to sit back and lay down the throttle and not have to think. Much needed for my sunday drive. By the time I hit another set of mountains I will be ready to go again.
