G'Day

Guess what the weather took a turn today and got hotter!!!!! Yes it was 22 degrees today and we are truly getting to the end of winter.

We took the train into the city and got off at Flinders Street station, then headed up Swanston Street and finished off the rest of our shopping.Then it was time for relaxing so what better way than a cruise up the river. It was a 1 hour trip that went up river and past everybody using the communal BBQ's by the river and past all the sporting stadiums as far as Herring Island and then back down to the Southbank, once disembarked form the boat we walked up to Birramung Marr (used to be the old Jolimont Railyard) now a park. But most importantly home of the giant ferris wheel!!!

Of course we had to have a go and from the top you got fantastic views of the city and the river. Once on the ground we decided that it was too hot to move any further until we had each eaten an ice cream!!!!

Took the train back to Sandringham where Jill collected us from the station. As usual we were treated with another great dinner which capped off yet another fantastic day, we will be sad to leave Melbourne as we have both enjoyed our time here so much. But there is no time to be sad as we have the Footie tomoorow (Aussie Style) which with 100,000 spectators should be a fantastic day out.
