Friday we started with breakfast in the hotel which was great and filling, exactly what we needed for the adventures ahead.
We had organised another tour of some of the regions winerys, but this time on a tandem bike! After a very short trial in a car park, where the bike guy basically said we were rubbish, we set off. After a bit of trial and error we were flying and spent the next 5 1/2 hours cycling about 25 km and stopping at 6 wineries.
The sun had been out all day so once back at the hotel we sat on the shared balcony and caught some of the last rays whilst enjoying some of the wine we'd bought. We then headed out for a bit of a walk about the town centre and caught the end of a girl doing a solo acoustic gig in a small square, there were no more than 20 other people watching but she was pretty good. It was then time for some food so we headed to a Turkish cafe and then called it a night.
We didn't have a whole load planned on Saturday so we decided when we woke up to a lovely day, that another walk about would be good. We choose an area to head to and set out, along the way we came across the Marina, school kids playing some sort of Kayak football and the airport! We found somewhere for lunch and sat outside enjoying some chicken wings and fish tacos in the sun. We arrived back at the hotel in the late afternoon and enjoyed some more sun on the shared balcony.
For dinner we headed to the restaurant in the hotel as it had been so good for breakfast the other day. We had some lovely dishes to share and a couple of cocktails, all were really good.
On Sunday we had a reservation at a winery called Mission estate. We arrived early for a look around and of course a wine tasting! Some of the wines were really good so after lunch in the gardens, which was fantastic, we headed back inside to purchase a couple to take home. After a 20 minute walk along the road we were in Church Road winery where we tried some of their offerings and also purchased one of their wines to enjoy later.
We had a glass of sparkling wine in the bar/cellar door before jumping in a taxi back to our hotel where we enjoyed a few beers in the Irish bar before calling it a night with a take away pizza!
