Time for the next part of our trip. Weather was wet and cold for our departure. A short hop to London Heathrow then on to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW). Our plane was late getting into Heathrow so we had to rush to catch our next flight. I like the concept of being given champagne when you board. The configuration of the BA business class is quite weird, instead of all the seats facing each other, on faces the from and one the rear. There is a screen that can be raised after takeoff to screen you from the other passenger if you are travelling solo. The only place they are together without separation is the two centre seats. Karen got very lucky and had two business class seats in the centre to herself. The flight was great and the staff very good. I managed to watch Quentin Tarantino's new movie "The Hateful Eight". Typical Tarantino. It is a nine hour flight so not as bad as Aus to USA. I managed to get a few hours sleep. Landed about 3.30pm Texas time. Probably the longest taxi in any aircraft I have been in, took about 20 mins to get to the terminal. The DFW airport was very efficient and nothing like I experienced at LAX. We were through the airport, luggage collected and heading towards the light rail to the City in about 30 - 40 minutes. The light rail was good even with lots of luggage, light rail = $10 v taxi = approx $70. Light rail station one block from the hotel. Temperature 34C and muggy, bit different from 7C in Dublin. Wandered down the street and grabbed a Mexican meal before crashing for the night. We are on the 28th floor of the hotel and had a fantastic view of the thunderstorms rolling across DFW. The storms bypassed downtown but the news is showing damage in the outer suburbs
