The highlight of the day must have been seeing the volcano erupting at night. The crater is spewing out tons of sulphur dioxide that during the day looks like a plume of steam, but at night reflects the glow of the lava lake below. Fortunately the wind is blowing the sulphur away from the viewing area. It is quite spectacular, actually watching the volcano erupt! If you want to live near a volcano, the ones round here are the safest to live near, only a couple of people have ever been killed, and one town buried by lava! Good statistics for volcanoes!
