I went for a long walk south along the lake...sooo perfect, Went to tourism office to book a steamship boat ride on Lake Taupo to Mauri rock carvings....then we strolled to Saturday markets where I bought some alpaca souls for my running shoes which are sooo comfortable and had a coffee (and apple crumble) while listening to live music...reminded us of the early days at the bribie markets! Well today was our trip from Napier to Lake Taupo .... We got up rather late, had brekky, the day was sunny and nice, went to tour the Art Deco town...as Napier suffered from an earthquake in 1938 and the town was rebuilt in that era...pretty town...went to beach again....very black rocky beach but looked so much better than yesterday.....lots of interesting things to do along beach like art stages, kids bike ramps, flowere gardens, etc....but somewhat bare and n...

Well woke up this morning and our hostess told us all ferries were cancelled...however we got an email saying that 2 pm may still go! Well we got to ferry terminal and they said still maybe...announcement to be made at 10am...went to see cR rental to explain situation as we may have needed car an extra day here and a day less over there...they were very obliging....just said come back when you know and we will sort it out....so we hung around till 10:30 at which ...
