Another day of driving through mountains...the ones we flew over yesterday! Lovely day today! The road follows the river all the way...guess that is easiest route to make a road...river has done hard work for man! We stopped and hiked a 30 minute hike to see blue pools...where water is very blue due to reflection of white rock river bed. Stopped to walk to beach when we got to west coast...Haast...very deserted....nothing between here and Antartica! Lunch at Haas...

Got up a bit late as booked in afternoon trip to Milford sound....last day in Wanaka today! Had a stroll along the waterfront, breakfast outside viewing the wonderful lake wanaka, filled up with fuel as long drive tomorrow and did a bit of shopping! Life is wonderful! Well at 1:30 we boarded the 6 seater aircraft and flew over the mountain ranges to Milford Sound....what a beautiful view...pretty scary....climbed up very fast and landing was very small and we jus...

Well we still can't get to Milford sound so as we were up at the crack of dawn for it we decided to hop in the car and tour the burbs of Wanaka....very spread out...every house looking for that magic view! So windy today...unreal...can't believe it is the same place we came to 3 days ago! We had a walk along the shore front and a delicious coffee and headed back to our room for lunch. Today we got up and ready for a flight to Milford Sound and a cruise to see the fiords....however not to be.....we have discovered New Zealand to be worse than Melbourne....that is sunny and hot one day...or minute....and windy and freezing cold the next....thank goodness Liz and Trevor advised us to bring our ice breakers! Days are long here....it stays light till 9 pm....but does not get light in morning till about 7am...very nice! Well planes would not fly so ...

Well Fred forgot his cholesterol pills so we had to go to a NZ dr and get a script...then the drama that they don't supply his meds in the same strength....but all sorted in the end...he was not going to worry about it but I insisted and dr told him he would feel real bad if he ignored it and had a heart attack! after doing laundry and working through Fred's meds, we went for a long walk along beach, had some lunch and went to House of Puzzles....amazing!
