Day 6
Had a lazy morning today. Woke up around 7.30am and grabbed some breaky with the guys on a terrace outside overlooking Lake Lucerne.
We checked out around 9.30am and headed for Lucerne. The weather was beautiful once again but traffic was average heading into the city so we parked on the outskirts and walked in following the lake through the immaculately maintained gardens.
I really loved Lucerne, it was buzzing with people and everyone seemed so relaxed except the Chinese tourists. We went to the Lion monument, it was flooded with pushy Chinese tour groups and I was beginning to become annoyed their rudeness.
We explored the city for a couple of hours and I purchased a small cow bell for Ebony from a Swiss Jewellery Store for 20 francs.
We left Lucerne around 1pm and headed for Interlaken. Nayta and Randy had done a fair bit of research and said it was best to avoid Interlaken and stay in a little village called Lauterbrunnen, their work paid off because this place quickly became the highlight my trip to date.
Lauterbrunnen is a tradition Swiss Village but so stunning it's hard to believe it's real. The village is bound by two mountains that elevate vertically creating a canyon like valley. Waterfalls cascade down the rock face into a river and the valley frames a view of the snow capped Alps. We stayed in a large bnb called the Staubach located in the centre of the village. The place is so breathtaking we all got a little carried away on the booze drinking Franziskaner and enjoying views from the balcony.
Danni, the hotels reception recommended we have drinks at the Horner Bar across the road so we carried on their and continued to enjoy the evening.
