Departure
Arriving at the airport hoping that the airline could sit us together, we approached the checkin and requested an up grade to business class and to be seated next to each other, we got a big fat no to both requests.
Accepting our separation for the first leg of our journey, Ryan and I wasted no time making our way to the Irish pub at the airport to have a few beers before our 14 hour flight to Doha. We lost track of time and left ourselves a 20 minute window to get through customs and get to our boarding gate (20) located at the very end of the airport. Ryan started to panic a said we were going to miss out flight, I really had no idea what to expect but realised Ryan was serious. We pushed our way through the unusually enormous line of people, cutting the cue to the check point. The customs officer was old and slow and could tell we were panicked, as we made it through we got told to run by Qatar airline staff so we ran the entire distance (1km) and only just made our flight.
Great start to the trip!
