Day 9
Not the greatest night sleeping in the hostel but don't care too much because the Alps are so amazing.
The weather can change really fast in the alps. Yesterday was humid and hot with afternoon storms. It rained through the night and it's quite chilli this morning.
Ryan a I decided to hike to a spot called Nepal Bridge without a map. There are a lot of goat tracks everywhere and we've tended to follow them hoping they will lead to something. This time the track took us down a very steep winding valley then through a sloping paddock with really long grass. My shoes were soaked and the track had disappeared into grass but I was determined to mind the bridge. We pushed on for a while but it became to dangerous, very slippery under foot and a lot of cliffs that plummet hundreds of metres. We eventually spotted the bridge decided to go back to town and ask for advice. It turns out you need to have climbing gear to get access and without its too risky.
We left the alps shortly after and headed for Berne. Along the way we stopped by Lake ??? just out of Interlaken to have a rest. Nathan decided it was a good idea to have another swim in a freezing lake. I liked the idea because I was feeling tired but it was freezing! I got out pretty fast and laid on the grass in the warm sun and slept for a little while.
We sad our goodbyes to Nathan and Myranda which was sad because they had been awesome to hang out with for the week, and decided to bypass Berne and head for the Black Forest.
The Black Forest is nothing like I expected (except for the incredibly dense forest part) full of lakes and mountains, ski fields, it's a huge holiday location for locals.
I picked a town called Tittisee based on its central location and at last minute we decided to bypass and head for Stuttgart where Ryan had business the next morning. But after getting a glimpse of the town from the road we decided we had to stay.
Tittisee is a holiday town like Noosa on a lake. It's very family orientated and full of Germans, no foreigners really, except use. It would be great to have a family holiday here it has do much to do for kids and the vibe is very relaxed.
We found accommodation with ease checking into a hotel and getting separate rooms. We've both had enough of each others snoring and need the rest. We went for a walk around town and took a boat out on the lake quickly to get some photos of the village. It's a great spot and I would definitely return with the family.
We ate at an Italian Restaurant sitting on a terrace overing the street. The prices were so cheap comparative to Swiss and the food was good.
Very night to try and catch up on done rest.
