Day 7
Had a late start to the morning which was a shame because the weather was perfect.
Spoke with Sherri and Ebony in the morning before breaky and Ebony speech sounds even more advanced.
We've been lucky to get a window of good weather during our time in the Alps so the views of the mountains have remained clear.
We caught the 11.37am train to Jungfraujoch a Mecca tourist attraction at the top of Europe. Jungfrau actually means young maiden and is the highest peak in the Swiss Alps at around 3500m. There are 3 main peaks the Eiger meaning ogre (like the movie Eiger Sanction) Monch meaning monk and Jungfrau. Legend has it the monk protects the young maiden from the ogre. Its a 2 hour journey up the mountain but the views are mind blowing!
We jumped off the train exiting the station and entered the start of tour. Nathan, Randy and I felt pretty sick from the high altitude, really faint and dizzy. It takes a while to catch your breath and adjust, it's also freezing cold in side but it's all worth it. I really enjoyed all the different aspects of the viewing centre and it was nice to know that Sherri had been here too and experienced the same things.
You wouldn't go to the Swiss Alp and not take the train up to Jungfraujoch it's an absolute spectacle. Asian tour groups are a little nuts though!
We arrived back in town around 6pm and decided to head to a restaurant called Weidstubli at the end of town. I order the Corden bleu and the meal was enormous and lacked flavour. Bavarian food is heavy and I'll be looking for healthier options from now on.
Early night for all, we're all exhausted from our trip up Jungfrau.
