Day 8
Forgot to mention that yesterday after dinner we climbed Staubbach Hill to get a close view of the water fall. I had to convince everyone to do it, it was steep but worth the trek. I asked Ryan if it reminded him of his trek to Mordor.
Everyone woke up feeling full of energy today. Ryan and Randy booked a paraglide for the morning and Nathan and i watched them land and their adrenaline was pumping.
Before checking out of the Staubbach we were told by the paragliding guys Benni and Fabion to check out the Trummelbach Falls. The falls are actually in the mountain and you climb hundreds of metres along pathways, through caverns and up steps to multiple viewing points in the mountain. There's also a lift if you want to avoid a heart attack from the climb. The Swiss are amazing at providing public access to the most amazingly remote natural things.
Our next stay was in Gimmewald and you need to take a cable cart to access the village because it's around 1000m above the valley and Lautterbrunnen.
We decided to go further up the mountain to Murren and hike back to Gimmewald because the views are breathtaking. We ended just siting a one point for an hour just relaxing and absorbing it all, I can't even begin to describe it but it's without a doubt the most spectacular place I have ever been.
We had a couple of beers at pub called Walters (Walter is about 90 and speaks perfect English) before heading to our accomodation. Unfortunately there are limited options with accommodation so Ryan and I had to stay at a hostel in a dorm with about 20 guys (never again).
We had dinner and drinks for the last time with Nathan and Myranda but I was so exhausted I called it a night early and left them to sleep in my dorm whilst they stayed and drank with the locals.
